"...The best fundraising training available anywhere in the UK"

In this dynamic, interactive full day programme, delegates are taken step by step through:

• Building a Winning Team;
• The Fundraising Cycle;
• Methods of Fundraising;
• Legal Restrictions;
• Sources of funding;
• Writing Successful Grant Applications

At the end of the session participants will have a clearer understanding of how to build the capacity of their organisation in order to effectively attract and manage funds as well as developing their own personal capabilities (dates & prices).

The later part of the day looks at how to work within the guidelines of the institute of fundraising and how to submit a successful grant application form.

Workshops are normally led by our Senior Consultant, Amal Douglas, who is a member of the Institute of Fundraising and who's fundraising credentials include having raised substantial funds for educational social, religious and environmental charities in the UK, South Africa, Spain USA and the Caribbean, through major donor campaigns and specialist fundraising programmes. In the UK he has been a consultant for clients on successful grant applications to a wide range of government grant programmes and private grantmaking trusts, as well as raising private finance for numerous commercial ventures.

Structure of the Day

The following are the areas to be covered in the programme during the day.
Learning & Working Styles
Each participants will be given the opportunity to use recognised analysis techniques to learn about their own working and learning styles and how that impacts on the organisation and how it can be complemented.

The Fundraising Cycle
An introduction to different types of fundraising and the key elements necessary in any fundraising campaign. Participants will be able to see which particular part of the cycle they are most inclined towards and which they are not, as well as the most suitable forms of funding for their particular project or organisation.

Diversifying the Fundraising Strategy
An overview of the different methods available to fundraisers and examining when best to use them, along with tips, tricks and best practice.

Organisational Overview
From their own point of view (paid employee, volunteer, trustee etc.) each participant will analyse their own organisation with the help of the trainer using all the information gathered in the earlier sessions. From this clear areas for development can be pinpointed and sources for support can be identified.

Submitting Successful Grant Applications
Normally run as a separate evening or afternoon workshop, each participants will be taken step by step what is necessary in filling in a grant application and what will increase or decrease the likely chances of success. Participants will use information from real projects they hope to get funded. 75% of participants normally go on to submit the application within 12 weeks of the training.

Participants will also be given course handouts to take away with them and will have FREE consultancy access for up to one month in order to complete any funding applications carried over from the event.
